New Super Mario Bros. Wii Will Stand Out on Your Shelf

Those images come courtesy of Kotaku.  They show off the box art, disc art and game case of next week’s New Super Mario Bros. Wii.  I just have to say, personally, that I don’t care for it.  I love the disc itself and the cover of the manual.  The pixelated look is really cool.  I don’t like the case for the game at all.  It’s going to stand out and look odd on your shelf sandwiched in between all your pristine white cases.  By itself it would be really good, but Wii games have always been in white cases.  The red label with a white case would have been fine as well.  I can only assume this is the final retail package, but don’t have confirmation of that.

What do you folks think?  Do you like the huge amount of red that comes in that package or are you like me and you would prefer to have a white case, even if it has a red label?  In the end it’s a really silly nitpick as the game is going to be really good, allegedly.  I just wanted to show you all what the packaging looked like.

I agree that the red case will stand out but so does the X-Box Ben 10 game in that photo.

That’s very true. Try putting that in your Wii and see what happens. [=^)

I Believe this will make it stand out but then again its Mario so i’m not worried about it i love Mario as big as an icon as he is he deserves a special box for his game after all it will probably be even better then SMB 3 and SMW put together in my opinion from all i’ve seen so far :) .

Personally, I like the striking red case; it makes me wish that I didn’t hold all my games in a DVD binder rather than on a shelf.
