Wii is the Fastest Selling Console in the U.K.
Good news for Wii fans in the United Kingdom. If you own a Wii you’re part of a success story. Gfk-ChartTrack data shows that the Wii broke the 6 million units sold mark for the region. The numbers break down like this year by year.
- 2007: 1.81 million units sold
- 2008: 2.73 million units sold
- 2009: 1.31 million units sold
There’s still some time to build on that number for the year, but we’re just short of the 3 year mark. The best selling console of all time in the U.K. is the Playstation 2, which sold over 10 million units in its lifetime.
