Capcom Delays Major Titles in 2010
It appears that you’re going to have to wait a bit longer for a few key Capcom titles next year. It’s being reported that Capcom has/is going to be announcing delays for four major titles in the next year. This is news for us because one of them pertains to Nintendo. The four titles that have been moved are Super Street Fighter IV, Lost Planet 2, Dead Rising 2 and Monster Hunter Tri. They are going to spread these titles out over the four quarters of 2010-2011 beginning in April for the following reasons:
- Avoid competing with the major titles that other companies plan to introduce in the 4th quarter
- Preserve the value of Capcom’s titles and maximize sales volume
- Expand the lineup of titles in the next fiscal year and afterward
There have been no official releases dates revealed for these games, but it’s being rumored that Street Fighter IV could be coming out in the first part of April with the other titles coming out in the next three quarters. I’ve sent word to Capcom for further clarification and if I hear anything back I’ll let you know.
