Nintendo Okie

I hope everyone had a great Christmas weekend.  I know we did at our house, but it was crazy busy and we had some strange weather.  First I have to apologize for not having any new content on the site.  We had a white Christmas this year.  It started snowing on Thursday and we ended up getting 6 inches overall in the Tulsa area.  This was apparently only the third time in Oklahoma history they’ve used the word blizzard to describe our weather, but because of it things went haywire around my house.  I was without power for a little while and that is why things didn’t get posted on Friday.  Then over the weekend I spent much of the time out in the snow helping to fix my mother-in-law’s car that broke down on Thursday.  We just had to wait until the weekend to get to it to fix it.  That’s all taken care of and we’re back on track now.

This is Game of the Year week, but at Nintendo Okie we’re not going to crown a single game of the year for the different platforms.  I’m not a big fan of the one game of the year, because there are so many good titles out there.  Instead we’re going to be doing our top 10 games of the year.  We’ve compiled the lists for what we think were the best games on each platform; DSiWare, WiiWare, DS, Wii.  We’ll be giving you a new list every day this week, starting with DSiWare today.  Since none of us actually own a DSi, except for Charles, we’ve decided instead to give you the list of 10 titles we’d like to own on that platform.  Each of the other lists will be what we think are the Top 10 games of the year.  They are in no particular order and you could ask each of us which we think was the best of the year and it would be different in most cases. 

On Friday we’ll be letting you know our thoughts for what will happen in 2010.  It seems a very fitting way to start out the new year.  I hope you guys like the content we have coming this week and make sure you let us know what you think.
