Top 20 WiiWare Titles (4/30/10)

Once again I dropped the ball for the Top 20 WiiWare titles last week. I’ll get back into a rhythm soon and make sure it gets posted every week. It’s actually quite interesting to see the movement of some of these titles every week. Publishers are listed in parentheses after the games title. Number in the parentheses is the previous ranking. All information taken from the Wii Shop Channel on April 30th, 2010.

  1. Frogger Returns  Konami(4)
  2. Pokemon Rumble Nintendo (2)
  3. WarioWare D.I.Y. Showcase Nintendo (1)
  4. Cave Story Nicalis(3)
  5. Tetris Party  Tetris Online (6)
  6. Mega Man 10 Capcom (5)
  7. My Pokemon Ranch  Nintendo (7)
  8. Reel Fishing Challenge  Natsume Inc.(13)

  12. Triple Shot Sports  Code Monkeys(8)

  16. My Aquarium  Hudson Entertainment(15)
  17. Diner Dash  Hudson Entertainment (12)
  18. Uno  Gameloft (18)
  19. Rage of the Gladiator Ghostfire Games (14)
  20. Max & The Magic Marker Press Play(NA)

Well, after falling off of the list last time Max & The Magic Marker made a triumphant return. I’m sure the folks over at Press Play are happy to see this title doing well. Also new to the list this week is Military Madness: Nectaris which is the latest in the turn based strategy game that started life on the TurboGrafix-16. With two new titles on the list there had to be two titles fall of the charts and those unfortunate games were Dart Rage and GhostSlayer.

The biggest movers of the week were Reel Fishing Challenge moving up 5 spots. This can only be attributed to people wanting to get outside to do some real fishing, no pun intended. There was a tie for downward movers with Diner Dash and Triple Shot Sports both falling 5 spots. Hudson did make a splash on the list though, coming second to Nintendo in representation with three titles lumped together. That can only be good news for the company.

We’ll have to check back next week to see if Max can keep his spot on the charts or if this is a one week return trip before heading back to the realm of the not top 20. Come back and check again next Friday for two reasons. One to see which titles are the best downloadable games on Wii and the other is to make sure I actually post the list.
