Euro News Round-Up: Week Ending 17/09

Euro News Round-Up

It’s been a big week for Nintendo. With a pre-TGS Conference revealing the next steps for the 3DS, the attention has been firmly focussed on Japan. But that’s not to say we haven’t had things happening here! We’ve got some big release dates and the biggest WiiWare release of the year.

3DS Release Date Update

Good news Mario fans! We’ve received a new batch of release dates for some of the biggest releases this Winter, and naturally, the two headline games are Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7. In an incredibly odd move, Super Mario 3D Land will be available on the SAME day as The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword AND Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games. No word from Nintendo yet as to why they have crowded November 18th.

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords (DSiWare) – September 28th

Flame Red 3DS – September 30th

Super Mario 3D Land – November 18th

Mario Kart 7 – December 2nd

Super Pokemon Rumble – December 2nd

Layton gets a Release Date

The latest Professor Layton game, The Last Spectre, will hit European shelves on November 25th. Regarding the London Life RPG, Nintendo UK have confirmed that it will not be included in the PAL version, citing the localisation time as the reason it was not included.

This Week’s Downloads

Mega Man: Dr Wily’s Revenge – 3DS VC (GB) – £3.60

MotoHeroz – WiiWare – 1500 Points
It’s taken a while, but RedLynx’s crazy racing platformer is finally available on WiiWare. Initial reviews are positive despite the reasonably high price tag, so well worth checking out!

Kyotokei – WiiWare – 500 Points

Cosmos X2 – DSiWare – 200 Points

And finally…

Expo season has kicked off in the UK, with the first ever GAMEFest currently taking place in Birmingham. I was meant to be going to GAMEFest but due to travel problems we won’t be able to bring you coverage of that particular event. But don’t worry! I’ll be in London in just 5 days time, attending Eurogamer Expo. Expect plenty of coverage over the next week!
