Hyrule comes to the UK this week as GameCity announce a brilliant Takeover Day in Nottingham. We also have a free Zelda game available and a release date for Kirby on the Wii!

Nottingham’s popular GameCity event will this year be hosting a very special Zelda Takeover Day to celebrate the franchise’s 25th Anniversary. On October 29th the Old Market Square will be transformed into Hyrule Market Town, with visitors able to get their hands on the newest entry in the series, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. There are plenty of other activities promised, including tutorials on playing the ocarina, designing your own shield and sword and a LonLon Milk Bar to relax at, all of which give you pieces of the Triforce to complete a ‘Hero’s Quest’.

It sounds absolutely brilliant, and GameCity are inviting Zelda fans to share their fandom of the series in a number of smaller events leading up to the Takeover Day.

Pink and Black Release Dates

We’ve got two new release dates this week for the Wii! First of all, Nintendo have announced they are releasing a black Wii bundle with a black Balance Board and Wii Fit Plus on October 7th, just in time for Christmas. The other release date is for Kirby’s Adventure Wii, which will be hitting the Wii on November 25th, much earlier than originally planned.
