Hero’s Journal – Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
The Heroes Journal is my attempt at doing a little creative writing based on the events that occur during different games I play. It started during my review of Dragon Quest IX and continues with Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones for the Game Boy Advance. I’m playing the game on the Nintendo 3DS.
This journal follows the events of the game from the viewpoint of a knight in service to Princess Eirika of Renais named Seth. Be warned that this journal could contain story spoilers about the game so if you don’t want anything spoiled don’t read on. You’ve been warned.
Our journey to the border of Grado and Renais continues. We reached the border town of Serafew where we encountered a group in service of the Emperor being led by a man named Saar. They were chasing a young girl named Natasha who had pledged her life to service in the Imperial Temple. Apparently she had information that these thugs found important. She asked for our protection and we obliged her. She said she knew a man named Joshua who could provide us with some information, but that he only worked for the highest bidder.
During the engagement with the Grado forces she found Joshua and he was convinced by her “immense beauty” that Grado’s emperor was under the influence of some evil powers and that our cause to stop him was just. He joined our forces and we were able to defeat Saar and his men. Again, we won the day, but not at a cost. Our young companion Ross has now lost both of his parents as his father, Garcia, gave his life to defend him from a mounted soldier. I know his heart is heavy, but we will not let Garcia’s sacrifice go in vain. He knows that his father died serving a cause that was worth fighting for.
There are rumors spreading that Prince Ephraim was captured during fighting in the north, but we cannot confirm those reports. We have to hope that they are widely exaggerated for it would crush our young Princess to find out that this is true.
