Inafune Confirms King of Pirates Going Worldwide

Keiji Inafune, the man most famous for the Mega Man franchise, is working on a new project for the 3DS.  In case you missed it we posted a teaser trailer a few months back.  At the time we weren’t sure if the game was going to be coming Stateside or not.  We assumed that would be the case, but it hadn’t been confirmed.  During GDC this week Inafune basically confirmed that the game would be coming outside of Japan:

“For all my titles, I’m looking to do worldwide publishing. I can’t say who is publishing because it could be Marvelous directly or maybe they’re going to find another publisher in the US, but the plan is to do it worldwide.”

So, there you have it straight from the proverbial horse’s mouth.  The game looks interesting, based off of the little tidbits of information we’ve got.  It’s slated to come out sometime in 2012.  We’ll keep you up to date as the project progresses.
