Skylanders Cloud Patrol Trailer
I’ve caught the Skylanders bug. I went out a couple of weeks ago and bought the starter pack for the Xbox 360 because it was on sale. I brought it home and Jake and I had fun playing through a couple of levels with those first three characters. Then he started playing the game and asking for more figures. This week, I went out and bought five more (for a total of eight so far). Now my daughter is into the game and she is planning on using her allowance next week to buy another figure and keep adding to the collection. I said I wasn’t going to get sucked into the game, but I did. It’s just so darn charming. It’s actually a pretty fun game to boot. The story was written by Alec Sokolow and Joel Cohen, most famous for writing Toy Story and Evan Almighty.
Last week Activision released an iOS game for the Skylander’s franchise called Skylanders Cloud Patrol. It’s basically a shooting gallery that is built around the idea of building up combos from linking attacks together by dragging your finger across different enemies. It’s actually a lot of fun and any of the Skylander figures you’ve purchased can be unlocked in the iOS game with a UPC code. It’s 99 cents in the iOS App Store and I highly recommend it.
