Square Enix Hints at a Sequel to The World Ends With You
The World Ends With You is one of those games I’m ashamed to admit that I haven’t played. It looks fantastic and like nothing I’ve ever played before. The problem is that I didn’t buy the game when it first came out and now I can’t find a copy at any of my local stores; but I really want to play the game.
Square Enix has been bringing out some of the characters like Neku Sakuraba who is making an appearance in the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. Now in an interview with Nintendo Dream series director Testuya Nomura said they have done voice casting for another character, Rhyme, out of “consideration of the future of The World Ends With You series”. When asked about the future of that franchise he said,
“I can’t say anything at present, but there probably is something.”
First of all, why would you say that you can’t say anything when you immediately follow that up by saying something? This does seem to hint at there being another game in the franchise. It will be interesting to see how the game does on the 3DS, if that is the platform it would be developed for. In the mean time if anyone finds a copy of The World Ends With You let me know because I can’t find it anywhere.
