Mighty Switch Force is one of my favorite games currently on the eShop. I thought the game, despite being fairly short, was a really solid platformer that used the 3D to nice effect. It’s a speedrunner’s dream and the recent update to the 3DS game made it even easier to do quick runs through the levels and even added some content.

Now Wayforward is taking the game to the Wii U eShop, with Mighty Switch Force HD. The game, which is shooting for a launch time release, will include all of the content from the recent eShop update in addition to some possible new levels and redrawn sprites. If you play the game on your TV the Wii U gamepad will display your ‘Hooligan Tracker’ showing the position of all of the Hooligan Sisters in the level. You also have the option of playing the game entirely on the Wii U gamepad itself with a smaller version of the radar displayed in one corner of the screen.

No word yet on pricing, but I expect that to be announced a little closer to launch.
