New Super Mario Bros. 2 Costs You Lots of Gold
New Super Mario Bros. 2 launches on August 19th at retail stores and through the eShop. Retail 3DS games run as high as $39.99 and if you want to pick up the game digitally it’s going to cost you the same amount. Nintendo has announced there will be no differences between the cost of games through retail channels or the eShop.
There may be opportunities to get the game on sale through stores and Nintendo has shown that eShop games will occasionally go on sale. Do you like that there is no difference between the pricing on the eShop and retail? Third parties could still post their games for a smaller price, but you’ll be paying full price for Nintendo published titles. Sony puts a 10% discount on many games sold through the PlayStation Network so you have some difference in the cost between retail and digital.
