E3 Staying In LA
When E3 was wrapping up this year there were talks that the event may change locations. There were things going on around the LA Convention Center, such as the construction of a football stadium for a team that doesn’t yet exist, and many people thought Los Angeles had hosted its last E3. Well, not so, as today the ESA has announced E3 will be held in the LA Convention Center for at least three more years through 2015.
“We are proud to partner with Los Angeles for another three years. The City serves as a strong backdrop for the video game industry’s biggest announcements and we look forward to remaining in LA,” said Michael D. Gallagher, CEO of the ESA via official announcement. “Video games are a dominant force in the global entertainment marketplace and there is no better place to display that than Los Angeles. We look forward to continuing our relationship with the City and AEG.”
I’ve never been to E3 and I saw many other outlets hoping E3 would leave LA and go to another city. I’ve always wanted to go to E3 and get some coverage of the newest game releases for the site, but plans just never seem to work out. I guess having 20 kids like I do means I have other priorities over attending a video game conference. Darn you, responsibilities.
