Persona Update 8-1-12
It’s been a long time since I’ve done this and a lot has happened in the world of Persona. I could spend time explaining what has delayed this update, but if I do that it will take me longer to write. I would like to get this out before Persona 4 Arena is released so I am going to get right into it.
The Yukiko Amagi Figma is available for pre-order from all your favorite, Japanese toy distributors; and specifically my favorite amiami.com. I got my Chie Figma last month and she is pretty awesome. I currently have her fighting my Aigis and Metis Figmas.
Speaking of Figmas, recently revealed at Wonder Festival are a couple new figures I will have to buy. First up is a yet-unpainted Labrys followed by a fully-colored Aigis; both from the pending Persona 4 Arena. While this is the first Labrys toy, this is the third Aigis Figma. I have a lot of pondering ahead of me as I already have an Aigis Figma. Should I buy this new one? No doubt I will get Labrys.
Since I can’t seem to stop talking about Persona 4 Arena, how about a last minute update before the game releases next week? If you don’t already know, you get a soundtrack CD with a pre-order of P4A. Here is the part where I embed a bunch of video links.

While watching those videos, you may have noticed Chie and Teddie’s voice actors have changed. The internet being what it is, there are arguments happening in YouTube comments, forums and goodness knows where else. Despite if you like the new voices or not, you better get used to them because these actors will provide Chie and Teddie’s voices for the English dub of The Golden and The Animation. Atlus also sent out some email allowing you to see all the color changes for each character. I can’t post an email but I can give you the link and let y’all figure out the URL coding.

Hey, I mentioned The Golden. That’s called a transition. We now have a US release date (October 23rd) and box art.
I can’t tell if Chie is sticking out her tongue or if she is just smiling. Since I know how much you love videos, here is a trailer and the opening for The Golden. I guess I know when I’m buying Vita now.
I got a few more things before I return you to your normal lives. There is an official Persona 4 Arena fighting stick but it’s only available in Japan.
Why do you hate me, Atlus? You may have heard Micah and I arguing on the podcast, about fighting sticks versus normal controllers. Simply put, if I can’t get this fighting stick, I don’t want any others. Let’s continue detailing why Japan is better than America. A special cut of Persona 4: The Animation, titled -the factor of hope-, was release to theaters in the land of the rising sun.
I’m not sure how they fit the whole story into 90 minutes but from what I understand this cut focuses on the main story and cuts out the social linking and side stories. As if that wasn’t enough for Japan to rub in our faces, at the end of the P4 movie, there was a teaser for a Persona 3 movie! No word yet on if this will be another anime, a live action movie or something else. Is that enough, Japan? It never is. Also announced is a novel series focusing on Naoto’s adventures as a detective post Persona 4. Life just isn’t fair, folks. By the way, the Persona 2: Eternal Punishment PSP remake is out n Japan but there is still no talk of it coming to the US or any other regions.
A big, untimely and unorganized Persona update this has been but we’ve come to the end. I’ll leave you with the opening and closing songs for Persona 4: The Animation; the US release for the DVD/Blu-ray is sometime in September by the way. Bonds of people is the true power.
