Nintendo Confirms This Is the Final Wii U Box Art Design

I posted this image over on the Facebook page a couple of days ago because it was just rumored to be the final box art design for the Wii U.  It features a light blue case with the Wii U logo front and center in a blue field at the top of the case.  There’s a small yellow border between the Wii U logo and the box art itself.

Nintendo has confirmed this is, indeed, the final box art design for the system.

“Nintendo has finalized the design of the Wii U game box art, and many of our publishing partners have already incorporated it into their own game packaging. We are seeing those game packages online as retailers are starting to showcase their games. For details about a specific game’s artwork, please contact the game’s publisher. Nintendo-published game boxes will appear shortly with placeholder logos, and then ultimately with the final artwork for each game.” – Nintendo representative

What do you think of it?  I kinda like it.  It makes the cases very distinctive from the Wii software so there should be no confusion for people going into the store looking for Wii U games.
