Nintendo Okie

There are only two things required for me to assume a game is going to be really good.  The first is that it falls into the Metroid style of gameplay, complete with maps, unlockable areas and plenty of power-ups.  The other is that said game is developed by a company I like to refer to as WayForward, aka Den of Awesomeness Supreme.  That game also happens to feature a movie starring Adam Sandler (yes, I think his movies are pretty funny).  The movie is being directed by Genndy Tartakovsky, famous for the Clone Wars animated series that he produced among other things.

Hotel Transylvania looks like a really good movie; one that I will be taking my kids to see.  The game also looks really good and reminds me of 2D Castlevanias and Metroid games.  I think this is one that I’m going to have to keep my eye on.  Here are some screenshots to give you an idea of what to expect.

Hotel Transylvania is set to hit stores on September 18th for the Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS.
