YoYoFactory Yuuksta Review
Before you start asking the questions that I know are coming to your mind right now, let me take the opportunity to answer them for you. Yes, it’s another yo-yo review. No, I’m not trying to bug Shelby this time. Yes, I’m having fun with these. And no, I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. This is a review for the Yuuksta by YoYoFactory.
What You Need To Know
Yuuki Spencer, the three-time US National and two-time World Yo-Yo Champion, has won his competitions using two different yo-yos, the 888 and the Genesis. The Yuuksta is a yo-yo that has taken the shape and heavy rim weight of the Genesis and crammed it into an undersized body similar to the 888. The result is one of the most fun-to-play-with yo-yos I’ve ever owned.
Beautiful Finish
The Yuuksta I picked up is a violet/white acid-wash color that really shines in the sun. I love purple and this yo-yo just looks awesome when it’s spinning. There’s also a really nice finish on the metal that makes it smooth enough for finger grinds, even in the humidity provided from a Tennessee summer.
Well Thought Out
The Yuuksta has a great H-shape body style that’s wide enough for performing finger grinds with ease. It also has a great lip on the inside of the rims to help balance the yo-yo when doing thumb grinds. Plus when you take into account it’s over-all undersized body, it’s great for performing tricks that require extreme accuracy within a small space (like chopsticks). All this put together makes it one heck of a yo-yo!
Center Trac Equipped!
For those of you who don’t know, most yo-yo bearings have a flat top-side for the string to sit on. There are also some bearings that have a U or V-shaped top that adds stability by holding the string at the center of the bearing. This particular yo-yo has what’s known as a Center Trac bearing installed out of the box (at least in the run that I got, some of the more recent ones have a standard SPEC bearing instead). What this does is add an incredible amount of stability to the yo-yo and in turn, increases it’s sleep time to accomplish greater and more complex tricks on one throw (a definite bonus to an already awesome yo-yo).
Conclusion
Have you ever had a toy that was just so much fun to play with that you found yourself getting into trouble with it? The Yuuksta has been that toy for me. It seems that over the past two weeks I’ve been up till one or two A.M. almost every night playing with this yo-yo. I’m losing sleep but having loads of fun in the process. All in all, I think the Yuuksta by YoYoFactory is a wonderful every day yo-yo that’s competition ready out of the box and definitely worth the money.
Final Score:
Review yo-yo purchased from YoYo-USA
Exercised EVERY trick I know multiple times over
Total play time: 12-15 hours (give or take)

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity

12-15 hours and no online achievement tracking?
We need to consult Microsoft about making an xbox branded yo-yo with something inside to track spin-time! Maybe even a game that it could come packed in with, like the Pokéwalker in Pokémon HG/SS.
You mean YO YO Baller Tricks?
At least the Skip It had a counter to track your achievements…
I’m thinking it could be done with a remake of StarTropics
Dude, I remember those commercials. That thing didn’t work very well, but it was still awesome. I would also love a remake of StarTropics that came with some pre-order yo-yo.
