Nintendo uses a different style guide than we do. Technically it could be hyphenated as a compound adjective, one word as a noun or two words as a adjective and a noun, but I think it's stupid to write it three different ways. English is an ever shifting language so the rules change all the time. I prefer one word so that's what I enforce.

I will agree with you on Skyward Sword's combat mechanics being what Twilight Princess should have been. Unfortunately they still needed a little fine-tuning, but even if they were perfect it still wouldn't come into my top 3.

My two biggest gripes about the game had to be how boring it was to fly around on the birds. It could've been so much better, but... it felt like an unfinished idea.

The bigger, and foremost gripe has to be the hub-based world. Start at home base, go to dungeon, back to base, go to dungeon, back to base, etc. I really didn't see the point in forcing me to go back to town after every task.

But moving on, yes, top-down all the way. I've always enjoyed the top-down approach to Zelda games. It just feels right to me. It's so simple, and you focus more on gameplay than graphics.

Idle thought, I really wish they'd make another side-scrolling Metroid. Go back to the basics!

Bah, you got me, Shelby. I tried to write some of this stuff down as fast as I could while listening and I was too lazy to make sure I got it perfect. xD

But riddle me this, Batman. If touchscreen is one word, then how come Nintendo support keeps referring to it with two words?

so, this EA FrostBite3/Unreal Engine 4 game engine not running on WiiU is so idiotic. These companies will find ways to port these games to any other console even scaled down to iOS, but say the WiiU won't run it. It should read, WiiU won't run it because we won't make it to run on the system.

Sorry, Jason, but I'm afraid you have misquoted our fearless leader. Quote two should be, "Nintendo hasn't ever really done a direct sequel to a Zelda game…" which gives him a little wiggle room to talk; timestamp 1:47. Oh and quote one should read, "Nintendo hasn't made a bad Zelda game yet." Timestamp 0:49.

Yes, I proofread the comments too. I have a problem. And by the way, guys, touchscreen is one word.

Your top three Zelda games are similar to mine, but I would switch Link's Awakening with Skyward Sword. The combat mechanics in that game were some of the best that I saw in any game during this past generation. It's what Twilight Princess should have been at the Wii's launch, not five years later. ALttP was such a solidly built game in every aspect; exploration, combat, visuals, dungeon layout. The whole thing was basically a masterpiece.

I do mostly agree with your thoughts. I had forgotten about the two DS games being together, but I remember really liking Spirit Tracks, with one exception. The train travel was horrendous. I can't argue in favor of that mechanic at all. I did think the touch screen stuff was pretty good. I would have rather had traditional controls, but it worked for what Nintendo was trying to do.

I personally would love to see another Oracle type situation where they release two games that link together in some way. Perhaps having the games be able to read the other one's save file and unlocking additional content that's only available if you're playing both games. I really just love the fact that Nintendo is returning to a top down, SNES style game. I would love to see more of that on the 3DS. I think if they do something more open world we'll see that with whatever they're working on for Wii U.
