Game of the Weekend: Colors 3D
This week’s Game of the Weekend isn’t so much a game as it is an art tool, and a really good one at that. Colors 3D will go on sale beginning at 12:00 P.M. Friday until 11:59 P.M. Sunday. You’ll be able to get your hands on the title for $3.99, which is $3 off the regular price of $6.99. If you’re at all interested in a really good drawing application for the 3DS, that is pretty powerful in terms of the tool set, I would recommend checking it out.
You can head here and see some oart that was created in the application. Nintendo of America’s Twitter page says this will be the last Game of the Weekend deal so you better take advantage of it. It’s a bit of a shame really. I know several people who took advantage of these deals and bought titles as they went on sale. I’d be interested in seeing just how much the GotW deals drove sales of the titles that were available.
Game of the Weekend: Mario’s Picross
The sweet, sweet deals in the Nintendo 3DS eShop continue. This week, in addition to two more games for 8-bit Summer, Mario’s Picross goes on sale for $2.99. You’ll save a dollar of the regular price beginning at 12:00pm EST on Friday until 11:59pm CST on Sunday.
This is a puzzle game for the Game Boy where you use a grid to fill in pixelated pictures. It’s a bit like Minesweeper without the mines. I’ve never played it, but I know a lot of people out there like the picross-style, puzzle game.
Game of the Weekend: Mighty Switch Force
I’ll let you know right now you’d be crazy not to take advantage of the Game of the Weekend deal in the eShop. This weekend, beginning tomorrow at 12:00 EST you’ll be able to get your hands on Mighty Switch Force for a steal of a price at $2.99.
Puzzle platformers don’t come much better than this one from Wayforward Technologies. It’s a little on the short side, but the recent update does add a little bit of length to the overall game. This will get you ready for the upcoming HD release of the game for Wii U.
Game of the Weekend
This week’s Game of the Weekend in the Nintendo 3DS eShop is Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword. This 3D action game is part Muramasa, part Punch-Out!! Micah reviewed this one for us when it came out a few months ago and gave it a glowing recommendation; one which I agree with. The game will go on sale beginning at noon eastern on Friday for $4.99 and will be available till 11:59pm EST on Sunday night.
Game of the Weekend Announced
To go along with the sale of Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins Nintendo has announced the “Game of the Weekend” Program. This will put one title in the eShop on sale from Noon Eastern Time on Friday through midnight on Sunday. The first game to go on sale through this program will be the indie platformer VVVVVV. For the duration of the weekend the game will be on sale for $4.99, a savings of $3 from its regular $7.99 price.
It looks like these deals will be announced through the regular Thursday eShop press release so I’ll be passing that information along to you folks every week.
