Nintendo Okie Podcast – Episode 99

January 16, 2012 Leave a comment

It’s been a slow news week but we manage to fill the podcast fine. Exploding refrigerators, exploding comments, exploding Kirbys; this show has it all. We actually go over time as we devote the end of the podcast to that whole SOPA thing. You can also look forward to Micah’s tale of the Zelda orchestra, Tony’s adventure through demo land, Mac’s exploding fridge (I already said that) and I try to describe Kirby Mass Attack. And to think, this isn’t even show 100 yet.

Skyward Sword Gets Orchestrated

October 3, 2011 1 comment

One of the best things about Super Mario Galaxy was the fact that the music was all actual instruments playing the music.  The orchestrated soundtrack made the music feel so much more vibrant.  It just sounded better.  You didn’t think Nintendo was going to be one and done with that did you?  It has been confirmed that the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will have a fully orchestrated soundtrack.

If it sounds anything like the music that was played during Nintendo’s E3 press conference then it’s going to be fantastic.  Did you really expect anything else from a Zelda soundtrack.  That franchise has some of the most memorable music in gaming history.
