Animal Crossing: New Leaf wasn’t quite out when we recorded this show. On top of that, E3 is this week. That’s not a good combination. We got another three man show this week with different people again. We had a good time recording this one. I hope y’all enjoy it.

We play musical chairs this week as we have another three-man show; but we change who the three are. No Micah this week but instead you can listen to Shannon, Tony and myself talk about ZombiU, Poker Night 2, Oracle Of Seasons, Mega Man/Sonic and Mario vs. DK. We also make fun of ourselves a lot and intercept a transmission from aliens… or something like that.

We didn’t think Shannon was going to show up this week, so we brought in the podcast ringer, Ethan King; turns out Shannon shows up in the middle of the show after all. As E3 draws closer, the drought of news is still in effect. But we talk about the games we have been playing as well as what little news we could muster. The Merchant plays a big roll in this week’s episode as well. Do you know what that means?

Tony’s Time: A Buying Problem

Hi. My name is Tony and I have a problem. If you’re a regular listener to the podcast then you know everyone on the staff has a tendency to buy a lot of stuff, sometimes expensive stuff. I’m probably the least guilty simply because I don’t have a lot of expendable cash (you know having a large brood and all). However, there is one thing I just can’t stop buying.
The item that I can’t stop buying is something that I know I’m going to end up having a lot of over the next five to six years. Some of these things I’ll buy. Some will be given to me and some will probably be traded for. What could that one thing possibly be? Read on and find out. Read more…
Nintendo Okie Podcast – Episode 120
E3 is over. Thank goodness. It seems like the show couldn’t have come at a worse time for any of us here at Nintendo Okie. You may have noticed Tony was the only one posting things last week. Poor guy had to do it all by himself. But we all found the time to get caught up (or mostly caught up anyway) so we could record this E4 podcast. Yeah that’s right E4! Not only do we have the normal crew but we manage to get Gaz on the show as well as, friend of the show, Steve Conger from thegamesmen.com. It’s a good show, folks. Enjoy.
episode-120
Starring – Tony, Shannon, Micah, Gaz, Steve, Shelby
Run time – 1:49:49
Be sure to head over to thegamesmen.com for more E3 podcasting goodness from Steve (@jsslifelike). You should also be listening to The Question Block. Good show that. As I say every week, send your emails to podcast@nintendo-okie.com and we will read them on the air. You can follow us on Twitter, join our Facebook group, subscribe to our YouTube channel and join our forum. Now that E3 is over, let’s all take a nap.
Ubisoft Brings Zombies to U
Capcom and EA aren’t the only developers that have a survival horror franchises anymore. Ubisoft has announced they’re bringing a new game to the genre, exclusively for Wii U. It’s called ZombiU and it’s one of eight titles that will be available from Ubisoft on Wii U. The game takes place in the middle of London during 2012 as an outbreak has affected the population. The game is being developed by Ubisoft Montpelier, famous for games like From Dust, Beyond Good & Evil and Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter.
The Wii U Gamepad will be shown off through a new feature called the Bug Out Bag, which contains all of your zombie fighting tools such as maps, weapons and the limited supplies you can scavenge from the environment. According to the developers, the touch screen, gyroscope and camera create a tactile connection between the gamer and the in-game world.
For those with plans to take over the world, the game’s new multi-player mode, Zombie Master, will have you using the Wii U Gamepad to control hordes of zombies on the touch screen while the second player fights for his life on the TV.
“ZombiU is a dark and daunting game that gamers will love to play again and again,” said Guillaume Brunier, producer at Ubisoft. “ZombiU takes advantage of the Nintendo Wii U’s one-of-a-kind capabilities and will be a launch title that every gamer will want to sink their teeth into.”
Keep an eye out at Nintendo Okie for more information in the coming months or you can visit the game’s official website, www.zombiu.com.
