A new survival-horror game has crept out of the shadows and it’s promising an old school vibe. Forgotten Memories: Alternate Realities is on the way this year and developer Psychoz Interactive is calling it a spiritual-successor to the classic survival-horror games from the 90’s. The game aims to combine exploration, reflection, puzzles, action, and survival with gameplay focused on fear mechanics.
The game has some pretty high quality voice talent in it with Guy Cihi and David Schaufele who worked on Silent Hill 2 lending their voices among others. The game initially started as an iOS project around 2009 but didn’t go into full production until 2012 when they switched engines to Unity. The switch to Unity looks to be for the better as the visuals look fantastic. Also, because they switched to Unity, this means more potential platforms for release, which is exactly what they’re doing. Forgotten Memories: Alternate Realities is coming out April 23 for iOS and later this year for Android, Steam, Vita, and Wii U. Check out the trailer below.
