A few days ago, Level-5 announced that they would be bringing be bringing the sequel to Fantasy Life to smartphones instead of the 3DS. This, of course, surprised many people as the original was a 3DS exclusive and one of the games shown off at E3 last year during Nintendo’s Treehouse Live event. Well Level-5’s CEO Akihiro Hino spoke with Famitsu recently where the subject came up. This is what was said:
I’d say Fantasy Life has elements and mechanisms which adults find soothing. Although children play games on dedicated game systems, recently many adults have been playing on smartphones.
Couldn’t disagree with the second part of this response more but then again, different regions. Also that’s a discussion for a different time. I am a bit curious though. Seeing as Nintendo was the company that localized the original, will there be any publishers that will step up to localize the sequel?
