Yesterday we had a tease, today we have a reveal. Activision revealed that after 5 years, Guitar Hero is back. The new game is titled Guitar Hero Live, is being developed by Freestyle Games (the studio behind DJ Hero), and will use live-action footage in a first person view instead of in game graphics.
The game will include a new guitar peripheral that uses a two-row, six-button layout. The change is to attempt making the game more accessible for those who had a hard time pressing the orange button in older entries.
Players can also play along to a continuously updated collection of music videos in a 24 hour network called Guitar Hero TV. You can play this mode with friends locally or experience it online with anybody.
Because there’s a new peripheral, the game will launch bundled with the peripheral for $99.99. Guitar Hero Live is scheduled for a fall release and will be making its way to Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, and select mobile devices.
