Happy Tuesday everyone! It’s time to find out what’s coming to our beloved Nintendo consoles in Europe this week…

Wii U (Download)

Amiibo Touch & Play – Not so much a game but more of a new way of interacting with your ever expanding collection of Amiibo. The app, which will be available to download exclusively from the Wii U eShop this Thursday (30/04/2015) will give players access to 10 minute demos of 30 NES & SNES games from the Virtual Console by simply tapping an Amiibo against your Gamepad. All Amiibo are compatible and a demo will be randomly assigned to your Amiibo when you scan it in. Amiibo Touch & Play will be available for free and you can find out more about it by clicking here.

Sin and Punishment: Successor of the Skies – Another entry in the Wii Virtual console collection. Sin and Punishment: Successor of the Skies was originally released on the Wii in 2010 and is the squeal to Sin and Punishment which came out on N64 about a million years ago. The game is a quick paced, stylish, on rails third person shooter with plenty of what ever it is that make these cult Japanese games so fun to play. Back when this was originally released for the Wii there were multiple control options including classic controller, Gamecube controller and even the Wii Zapper, the game also featured local 2 player action but at this time there is no confirmation on if these features will be included in the Virtual Console release. Sin and Punishment will be £13.49/€14.99 until 07/05/2015 when it will join the other Wii Virtual Console games at £17.99/€19.99.

DLC

Super Smash Bros. – The three people who didn’t register their Wii U and 3DS versions of SSB on Club Nintendo will have a chance to download Mewtwo this week when he is released for general purchase on both versions of the game. Mewtwo will be priced as follows…

Mewtwo Wii U OR 3DS – £3.59/€3.99
Mewtwo Wii U AND 3DS – £4.49/€4.99

There will also be a bundle which includes all currently released DLC available, again for two prices…

Bundle Wii U OR 3DS – £9.11/€10.31
Bundle Wii U AND 3DS – £13.12/€14.51

Star Wars Pinball

Heroes Within – £7.99/€9.99. Includes 4 tables; Han Solo, Star Wars Pinball: Droids, Star Wars Pinball: Episode IV A New Hope, and a table dedicated to the Masters of the Force.
Star Wars Rebels – £2.39/€2.99. Contains a single new table.

3DS (Download)

Excave II: Wizard of the Underworld – This hack and slash RPG looks like it’ll be a great way to sink a lot of hours if your looking for something to keep you occupied on your 3DS. It comes across as a fairly typical top down action RPG with loads of dungeons to explore and weapons to collect. If this is the kind of thing that takes your fancy, it’ll be available for the price of £8.99/€10.00 and if you want to see more, here’s a trailer.

There are no physical releases for 3DS or Wii U this week.

Myles’ Pick
This week I’ll be getting my Amiibo down from their residence on the window ledge and unlocking some demo’s on Amiibo Touch & Play. The app looks really interesting to me as it’ll give me chance to play some older games that I haven’t had chance to play before and aren’t brave enough to spend money on. It’s great to see Nintendo making a use for Amiibo outside of normal games, hopefully they’ll add some N64 and Wii games to the mix too but for now this is an awesome way of exposing people – especially younger gamers to the amazing catalogue of gaming from Nintendo’s illustrious past.
