Sega Won’t Have Booth At E3 2015

Lately, things at Sega haven’t exactly been good. Sonic Boom didn’t live up to expectations and they started doing mass layoffs earlier this year due to them being financially strapped.

Well, it only gets worse. Because of all the things that have been happening, Sega won’t be at this years E3. Here’s what a representative had to say:

Over the next months, SEGA of America will be focusing on the restructure and relocation to Southern California, and we have decided to not attend E3 with our own booth this year. With the majority of our bigger titles launching later in 2015/2016, particularly those from our AAA studios Relic Entertainment, Sports Interactive and Creative Assembly, we are concentrating our efforts for some of these major announcements after our relocation. Instead, we will be collaborating with our various business partners for this year’s E3 show.

It’s sad to see them in the position they’re in. All is not bad though. This will help them save money. Also from the sound of it, they’ll still be at E3 just in others booths. They also still have other games on the way, such as Total War: Warhammer. Hopefully we’ll see Sega get back on track.

  1. They’re beginning to phase themselves out of the console business. They’re looking more towards mobile as a platform. The only thing that will keep them up in the games business is Atlus. Outside of that we’re not going to see much from Sega anymore.
