European Releases Week Beginning 18th May 2015

It’s a day early because I’m feeling productive on this fine Monday evening – Here are this weeks releases for all things Nintendo.

eShop Software

Swords and Soldiers 2 (£16.99/€18.99) – This weeks biggest release is Swords & Soldiers 2 which is coming to the eShop as a downloadable title. This is actually a sequel to a WiiWare game and is a 2D side-scrolling strategy game (if there is such a thing) where you command a group of Vikings as they do battle with different factions. S&S2 also has a 2 player competitive couch co-op mode. Absolutely worth checking out if you fancy something a bit different and a bit slower paced.

Baila Latino (£24.90/€29.90) – Have you been hankering for the chance to do some Latin-American dancing on your Wii U? Well Hanker no more as Baila Latino is out this week to fulfil all of those desires.

Wii U Virtual Console

Kirby’s Epic Yarn (£13.49/€14.99 until 28th May then £17.99/€19.99) – Kirby’s Epic Yarn was the first Kirby Platform game released on a home console since N64 when it came out on the Wii in 2010. Other then the art style this is a more traditional Kirby game then the recently released Rainbow Paintbrush but is still a different experience then your normal, run of the mill Kirby games. The art style in Epic Yarn is that what you’re expecting, everything is made of yarn and that effects gameplay in very fun and innovative ways. But don’t take my word for it, check out the trailer…

Paper Mario (£8.99/€9.99) – The game that started a whole new series in the Mario universe. Paper Mario makes its way to the Virtual Console this week. Although it’s a wacky and weird story at its heart Paper Mario is a traditional turn based RPG and a solid one at that.

Myles’ Pick

myles-foaleA very low key week, especially for the 3DS with no releases, physical or otherwise. Having said that, Urban Trials Freestyle is an absolute bargain for just £1.69/€1.99. I’m also interested in Paper Mario as I never had chance to play the original one on N64 (although I have played both the Wii release and 3DS release).
Well that’s your lot for this week, I’m on my jollys (holidays if your American) next week so there won’t be a releases round up then so have a blast playing Splatoon when it comes out on the 29th May and if I don’t see you…

Good afternoon, good evening and goodnight.
