Klei Entertainment has announced that their popular survival game Don’t Starve will be heading to Wii U on May 28th. The game will come in the form of Don’t Starve: Giant Edition, which includes both the base game and the first expansion Reign of Giants.
In the game you play the role of a scientist who wakes up alone in a mysterious land with nothing to your name. You’re forced to eek out a living from the land crafting items like axes, picks, sleeping bags and armor while foraging for food. All the while you’re trying to find out what exactly is going on and where you are.
Giant Edition adds new playable characters, items and environments. In versions on other consoles you can choose to play the original content alone or include all of Reign of Giants.
This does not include the new multi-player version of the game, Don’t Starve Together. Regardless, it’s a really fun game that forces you to figure things out on your own. It doesn’t pull any punches and if you survive more than a handful of days your first time consider yourself lucky. Oh, and remember. You can eat the carrots you find on the ground.
