As we all know, a new Call of Duty game is on the way as it is every year. This year, that game will be Call of Duty: Black Ops III. A new blog post was put up on Activisions Call of Duty page regarding Black Ops III that included some good news and some bad news.
First, the good news. Call of Duty: Black Ops III will be making a return to the PS3 and 360 this year. The game will include the campaign, multiplayer, and zombies. Unfortunately, there will be differences other then graphics. Unlike the PS4 and XB1 versions, the PS3 and 360 versions will only have a 2-player campaign instead of 4-player campaign. There’s also be other features that will be missing due to hardware limitations.
Now, the bad news. It appears Call of Duty: Black Ops III will be skipping the Wii U. This is similar to last years Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Here’s the quote they said about it:
Also, it should be noted that there’s no version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 for Nintendo Wii U planned.
This isn’t a definitive no, however, it appears that Wii U owners will be missing out on another Call of Duty game. While I’m personally not the biggest fan of the Call of Duty series, I did feel they did a fantastic job on Call of Duty: Black Ops II for Wii U. It really made use of Wii U’s pro’s, especially in 2-player co-op. Being able to use the Gamepad for one player while another player could use a Classic Controller Pro, Wii Remote and Nunchuk, or Pro Controller was amazing. I’d take that any day over split-screen.
