A few days ago, there was a leak on Amazon for a new Xbox One with a 1 terabyte hard drive and a redesigned controller. Today, Microsoft has officially revealed the system with a video featuring Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb.
Yesterday, known games analyst, Michael Pachter, was quoted saying that he thinks the Xbox One will go up in price. He went on to say he believes new hardware will be introduced for Sony and Microsoft at the $400 price point and the old hardware will be $50 cheaper. It appears he was right.
Major Nelson revealed that the new Xbox One will run at $400 and the old hardware will have a permanent price of $350. The redesigned controller, a headset, and Halo: Master Chief Collection will also be included in the $400 bundle. The new controller will include a 3.5 mm stereo jack, improved triggers, and it can receive wireless firmware updates without the need to connect to the console. The controller will be sold separately for $64.99.
