With the announcement of Dragon Quest XI: The Search for a Bygone Time, there has been quite a bit of fan interest for the titles in the west. Eurogamer reached out to Square Enix Europe and received a statement on the game and a possible localization. This is what Square Enix said:
We don’t have a concrete plan at the moment. However, we will consider it as we’ve done in the past for other Dragon Quest titles. We don’t have further information to share at the moment.
I wouldn’t expect anything concrete for localization this early on. However, with so much western fan interest in the Dragon Quest series in recent years, I couldn’t imagine Square Enix being able to continue ignoring the market. Who knows though. Hopefully we’ll start seeing the games get localized sometime soon.
