Super Mario Maker saw a great first week in the UK gaming charts coming in at 2nd place against some stiff competition. A week later and the level maker game is still in the top 10 but has dropped to 6th place most likely due to several big games coming out on other formats and the normal 2nd week drop off that most games go through.
Mario Maker is Nintendo’s key title going into Christmas with Starfox being delayed so Nintendo are going to want to keep it in the top 40 for a while. Hopefully this means Nintendo will continue its strong promotion of the game and maybe even some post launch updates like Splatoon?
Speaking of Splatoon, it finally dropped out of the UK top 40 this week. A very impressive run for Nintendo’s multiplayer shooter which came out at the end of May.
