That’s right, the hugely popular franchise Minecraft will be heading to Nintendo’s home console; the Wii U later on this month. It is currently scheduled for release on 17th December on the eShop in Europe and North America with a physical release apparently coming “later”. No price has been confirmed for Europe but North America will be paying $29.99 which converts to £19.99, so £25 might be a good guess.
The game will support offscreen play and will come bundled with 6 DLC packs with a further 16 available for purchase although no pricing on these packs has been released yet. Mojang have also confirmed that they are working with Nintendo on some exclusive content too so don’t be surprised if we see Mario in Minecraft sometime in 2016.
I’m sure everyone will agree this is fantastic news for the Wii U and will set up what should be much better and possibly final (proper) year for the Wii U in 2016.
