Nintendo has a long history of working with different restaurants to fill their children’s meals with various Nintendo related products. Children have a history of liking Nintendo related toys. It only makes sense to put those two things together and Nintendo is once again doing just that.
From April 19th – June 30th the company is working with Oklahoma based restaurant chain Sonic to include five different Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam themed toys. Nintendo VP of Sales & Marketing Scott Moffitt says:
“SONIC Drive-In is the ideal location to premiere the very first toys based on this unique collaboration.”
The toys are themed around the recent mash-up of two Nintendo RPG series featuring the plumber brothers and their paper thin counterparts. One toy shaped like Mario races across the room on wheels, while another featuring Paper Mario and Luigi spins around like a top. Two of the toys even resemble the folded-up paper look of the outrageous papercraft battles featured in the game.
