Create Your Skylander and Bring It To Life

The next Skylanders game from Toys For Bob and Activision will be hitting stores later this month. Skylanders Imaginators will feature in depth creation tools that will let you create your own characters and bring them to life in the game. These new characters can be brought into the game a couple of different ways. There will be new generic toys that you can save your creations to, but if you’re a little more adventurous and have a little money you can bring them to life in other ways.

Using the new Skylanders Creator app on iOS and Android, which features the same creation set as the game, you can customize your character to your liking and then have them 3D printed and shipped to your door. If you want that it’s going to cost you $49.99. If you don’t have that much money, but you still want your creation immortalized forever you can get an amiibo style card created that features a high quality print of your character. Place this card or 3D printed figure on the Portal of Power and watch your character come to life on the screen. For $24.99 you can have your character printed onto a t-shirt.

Activision really wants you to expand the line of 300+ characters by even more. Kids have dreamt about being able to create their own characters to play in games and now they can.

Activision also has a few things going on in their Countdown to Creation. At Gamestop stores, people who are members of the Skylanders Adventure Club who pre-order Skylanders Imaginators will receive two free tickets to see Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life in theaters. Beginning on October 24th share your created characters from the game or the Skylanders Creator app on social media using #CreatorContest and you’ll be entered to win your custom character 3D printed for free.

The last thing they’re doing for Skylanders this year is the release of the Netflix series Skylanders Academy. The full series of 13 episodes will be available to stream on October 28th.

Skylanders Imaginators launches on October 16th for PS3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
