If you’re looking for a portable solution to your Nintendo Switch dock troubles you might look no further than the Switch-Con. This new portable hub acts just like a Nintendo Switch dock letting you connect the system to any TV without needing to carry the ‘bulkier’ official dock from Nintendo.
The company behind the project was looking for $5,000 in their Kickstarter campaign and have already blown past that by raising nearly twice that in the first few hours of the campaign. The dock itself combines six different ports together on one pocket sized device allowing you to plug in anything that uses a USB-A or USB-C plug and connects to a monitor or TV via HDMI. If there’s one drawback to the device it’s that it doesn’t act as a stand for your Switch meaning you’ll have to have it sitting on a table or TV stand to use it.
It’s cheaper than getting an official replacement dock as well, at $69 to get one, but if you have a bunch of friends and you want to go in together to get a bundle you can get 10 of them for $589. The device is expected to ship in August anywhere in the world. Check out their Kickstarter campaign if you’re interested in finding out more about the portable Switch dock.
