If you’re a fan of Super Smash Bros. In any way you’ve probably heard of Project M. It was a community driven project that added new fighters, updated or enhanced mechanics in the game and worked to make a more balanced fighting game. Last year the project was shut down permanently and it left people wondering just what would happen next for that group. We now know the answer.
They’ve just unveiled a trailer for a new game they’ve been working on. It’s called Icons: Combat Arena and it bears a striking resemblance to another game they’re famous for. It’s set for release this Fall and a beta for Steam will be coming soon. You can check out the trailer below and see the game and their new roster of characters in action.
I’ve reached out to them to see if they have plans on bringing the game to consoles. It’s marketed as a free to play fighter in the trailer and it joins an ever growing list of Smash Bros. Style fighters such as Brawlhalla. I’ll bring you more details as they become available.
