There’s no denying that fans are eagerly awaiting the announcement of Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo Switch. The game is one of the most popular releases on Nintendo platforms every time it comes to a new system. Indie devs are filling the gaps. Brawlhalla is out on many systems right now. We know of one other game, from the developers of Project M. Now we have the announcement of a release date for another.
This one is Brawlout and it looks the most like Smash Bros. Of any of the games we’ve seen so far. The game will be available for download on the Nintendo Switch beginning Dec. 19th. It’s a four player arena fighter where the goal of the game is to knock opponents out of the ring by building up damage steadily over time. Hyper Light Drifter, the character from the game of the same name, is joining the roster of playable characters which includes a four armed frog, a walrus who carries a penguin on his back, a regal own, and Juan from Guacamelee, among others.
If you’re curious about the game you can check out some footage of it in action from this trailer and then pick the game up later this month. It will have both local and online play as well as many other modes for both single and multi-player play.
