Bridge Constructor Portal Launches February 28th

The next installment in the Portal franchise hits Nintendo Switch on February 28th, according to publisher Headup Games.  Bridge Constructor Portal, which has been available on Steam for a couple months now, combines the mind-bending puzzles of the Portal franchise, with the physics based fun on the Bridge Constructor series.  The game’s synopsis, according to a recent press release:

Enter the Aperture Science Enrichment Center and experience Bridge Constructor Portal – the unique merging of the classic Portal™ and Bridge Constructor™ games.

As a new employee in the Aperture Science test lab, it’s your job to build bridges, ramps, slides, and other constructions in 60 test chambers and get the Bendies safely across the finish line in their vehicles.

Make use of the many Portal gadgets, like portals, propulsion gel, repulsion gel, aerial faith plates, cubes, and more to bypass the sentry turrets, acid pools and laser barriers, solve switch puzzles, and make it through the test chambers unscathed.

Let Ellen McLain, the original voice of GLaDOS, guide you through the tutorial, and learn all the tips and tricks that make a true Aperture Science employee.

This is a really interesting take on both of these franchises, and while I personally would enjoy a proper third entry into the series, I’m keen to check this out.  This isn’t the first time we’ve gotten new Portal puzzles outside a proper game release.  LEGO Dimensions had a Portal themed area that utilized some pretty tricky puzzles.

The game is currently available on Steam for $9.99 and on mobile devices for $4.99.  It will be launching for Xbox One on the same day as Switch and will be releasing for the PS4 the next day on March 1st.
