That’s right folks. Nintendo has today announced the season of the year that the next installment of the franchise will hit North America. You can look for both Pokemon Black and Pokemon White, along with their respective legendary Pokemon covers to hit store shelves sometime next spring. When they launch Pokemon Black will feature Reshiram and Pokemon White will feature Zekrom on their covers.
“Pokémon is a true worldwide franchise with legions of fans in every corner of the globe,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “We know these fans will be thrilled to discover this new generation of Pokémon next year.”
Alongside this announcement of the release window Nintendo also announced that Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver have sold over 8.4 million units collectively worldwide since they launched. No other details were announced.
If you’re looking for a Pikachu to add to your collection of Pokemon in the latest version of Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver now’s your chance. Nintendo has announced that there is a special route for the Pokewalker known as the Yellow Forest Route that is full of Pikachu. In order to get it you have to go through a bit of preperation, but follow this link for how to do that.
If you’re a fan of Pokemon and you’ve just gotta catch ’em all, Nintendo has announced there are two more reasons for you to pre-order their latest handheld offerings, HeartGold and SoulSilver. There are two figures that will be available to fans who purchase the game before it’s out. Pre-ordering HeartGold will get you a figure of the legendary Pokemon Ho-Oh, and SoulSilver pre-orders will get you the legendary creature Lugia.
“These unique figures are our way of thanking Pokémon fans of all ages for the enthusiasm and support they have shown for the series,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions include new features and enhancements that players will instantly appreciate, and we think these terrific figures will help to get fans even more excited about what is in store for them on March 14.”
Don’t forget that these two games also offer benefits for the health concious. Both games come bundled with the Pokewalker which is a device that will allow you to upgrade your Pokemon by keeping track of the number of steps you take in a day and giving you benefits based on that number.
Have you ever had this thought, “You know I like the Pokemon game, but you know what would be awesome? If I could play Pokemon while I was walking to school.” No, neither have I?
Now, though if you have had that thought you’re wish has come true. Nintendo has announced that the Pokewalker will ship with each copy of the newest games in the series, HeartGold and SoulSilver when they release on March 14th. The Pokewalker allows you to transfer Pokemon to the Pokewalker and earn Watts while you’re walking. Those watts will then be used to open up new routes for your Pokemon to walk around, search for hidden items, or even capture wild Pokemon.
Your Pokemon will earn experience points while you walk in your everday travels and you will even be able to level up one level when you transfer them back to the game. So get out there and walk, Squirtle’s out of shape and Entai still hasn’t been caught.
